E-commerce SEO for Online Stores with More Products Than Patience
An online store isn't a website with a shop bolted on. It's thousands of pages that multiply every time someone clicks a filter. E-commerce SEO is about making that work for you, not against you.

I’ve been doing SEO since 2004, and online stores remain my favourite puzzle. A brochure site has twenty pages; a store can have hundreds of thousands, most of them created by filters, sorting and pagination rather than by anyone on purpose. We also build our own e-commerce platform, bfree, tested with 300,000 products, so we see these problems from both sides: the code and the search results. That’s what our e-commerce SEO service brings together.
Who it’s for
- Stores with large or fast-changing catalogues.
- Stores whose category pages rank below marketplaces and competitors.
- Stores planning a platform migration and wanting to keep their rankings.
- Stores running Google Shopping or other product feeds that don’t perform.
- B2B and wholesale stores that also want retail traffic from search.
What we do
Category and product structure
Categories are usually a store’s most valuable search pages. We design a structure that matches how customers search, not just how your warehouse is organised, with clear internal linking from categories to products and back.
Faceted navigation
Filters for size, colour, brand and price are great for shoppers and can be a disaster for search engines. We decide which filter combinations deserve their own indexable pages, and keep the rest from wasting crawl budget.
Duplicate content
The same product in three categories, sorting parameters, pagination, near-identical variants, manufacturer descriptions copied everywhere. We clean it up with canonicals, sensible URL rules and unique content where it counts.
Product schema
Structured data for products, prices, availability and reviews, so search engines and AI assistants understand exactly what you sell.
Speed
Large catalogues are often slow ones. We find what’s slowing down category and product pages, and fix it together with your developers, or ours.
Product feeds
Clean, complete feeds for Google Merchant Center and other channels: titles, attributes and categories that match what people search.
Category content
Short, useful text on category pages that helps shoppers choose and gives search engines context, without burying the products under an essay. Buying tips, size guides and answers to common questions often work better than generic paragraphs stuffed with keywords.
Internal search and out-of-stock pages
What happens to a product page when the item sells out, or is discontinued for good? And what does your internal search tell you about what customers want but can’t find? We set clear rules for both, so you don’t lose rankings built over years, and you spot category ideas hiding in plain sight.
How we work
- Free call. 30 minutes on your store, platform, catalogue and goals.
- Crawl and audit. We crawl the store the way a search engine does and map structure, duplicates, filters, schema and speed.
- Prioritise. Fixes ranked by impact, starting with categories and templates that affect thousands of pages at once.
- Implement. Technical fixes, schema, feeds and category content, with your developers or through Dynomica.
- Measure and repeat. Regular reporting on indexing, rankings and organic revenue, then the next round.
Why us
- SEO since 2004. Two decades of practice, including many online stores through Reshenia, our agency with clients from 17 countries.
- We build e-commerce software. bfree was built for large catalogues, so we know how templates, filters and URLs behave under the hood.
- Migrations without the traffic cliff. We migrate stores from Magento, WooCommerce, OpenCart and PrestaShop and plan redirects from the start.
- Fixes at template level. In a store, one change to a category or product template can improve thousands of pages at once. We start there, because it gives the best return on your time.
- Developers on hand. Many SEO audits die in a developer’s backlog. Ours can be implemented by our own engineers.

Frequently asked questions
Which platform is best for e-commerce SEO?
Most platforms can rank well if they're set up properly. What matters is control over URLs, canonicals, filters, schema and speed. We work with existing platforms and also build our own, bfree.
Should filter pages be indexed?
Some should, most shouldn't. Filter combinations that match real searches, such as a brand within a category, can be valuable pages. The rest usually create duplicates and waste crawl budget. We decide case by case based on search data.
Will I lose rankings if I change platform?
A migration always carries risk, but careful URL mapping, redirects and checks before and after launch reduce it significantly. We plan SEO into the migration from day one.
Do I need unique descriptions for every product?
Not always for every product, but copied manufacturer descriptions make it hard to stand out. We usually prioritise unique content for best-selling products and key categories first.
How much does e-commerce SEO cost?
It depends on catalogue size, platform and how much needs fixing.
